Our Commitment to Safety

We are fully committed to:

  • Complying with all relevant UK health and safety legislation, including:
    • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
    • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
    • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)
    • RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013)

Safe Working Practices

Our electricians follow strict safety protocols, including:

  • Comprehensive risk assessments before starting any job.
  • Adherence to safe systems of work, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) for electrical circuits.
  • Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including gloves, safety glasses, and flame-resistant clothing where required.
  • Strict compliance with COSHH regulations when handling hazardous substances.
  • Specialist procedures for working at height, manual handling, lone working, and noise control.

Ongoing Training & Consultation

We ensure our employees and contractors are trained to the highest safety standards, including:

  • ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Cards
  • IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) Certification
  • PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers' & Manufacturers' Association) Training
  • First Aid & Emergency Response Training

Additionally, we hold regular safety briefings and consultations to keep all team members up to date on best practices and new safety measures.


Roles & Responsibilities

Health and safety at Mission Road Electrical is led by our Senior Management Team, with ultimate responsibility held by Robert Best (Director).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk assessments & workplace safety
  • Employee consultation & safety briefings
  • Incident reporting & investigation (RIDDOR compliance)
  • Training & supervision for employees and contractors
  • Implementation of specialist safety procedures (fire safety, PPE, manual handling, asbestos management, etc.)

Contractor & Subcontractor Safety

All contractors working on Mission Road Electrical projects must:

  • Provide evidence of competence and health & safety compliance.
  • Follow risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Undergo site induction training before commencing work.
  • Adhere to our Permit to Work system for high-risk activities (e.g., live electrical work, confined spaces, hot works).

Ongoing Training & Consultation

We ensure our employees and contractors are trained to the highest safety standards, including:
